XTOS / OPEN SOURCE REAL-TIME SYSTEMOPEN SOURCE · VERSION 0.9.0 · BUILD FROM SOURCE

Build

Build the source, then boot and verify the system in QEMU.

x86_64

Build and verify from public source

  1. Get the source

    git clone https://github.com/Aitaide/OpenXTOS.git
    cd OpenXTOS
  2. Install dependencies

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install -y build-essential bc bison flex libssl-dev \
      libelf-dev cpio gzip rsync python3 kmod file qemu-system-x86
  3. Build

    JOBS=$(nproc) ./scripts/build_system.sh
  4. Run verification

    QEMU_TIMEOUT=180 ./scripts/verify_system.sh

RISC-V64 guest checks require OpenSBI. Run the matching verify_guest script for ARM64 and RISC-V64. QEMU checks validate software behavior, not real-hardware performance.

Local build outputs

Choose one target architecture. x86_64 uses the native toolchain; ARM64 and RISC-V64 require the matching cross-compiler and QEMU.

Linux 6.6.0-rt15

Kernel image, kernel configuration, and modules.

BusyBox + initramfs

Lightweight user space and guest verification tools.

libxtos-*

Scheduling, signal processing, and BCI device-session libraries.
